A Joss Whedon (Buffy the Vampire Slayer, Angel, Fray, Astonishing X-Men) TV series creation that was cancelled by the Fox network after airing only 11 of the 13 produced episodes. Set 500 years in the future, the crew of Serenity, a model of transport-class spaceship known as a Firefly, under the command of Captain Malcolm Reynolds, flies the outskirts of settled space, avoiding the ruling power of the Alliance, and picking up whatever jobs they can find.
The following are the main cast of FIREFLY. All of them appear in the movie SERENITY, which takes place about 6 months after the last episode of the TV series. Clicking on a link will open a new browser window with the related Internet Movie Database page.

This series had a great set of covers that form a panorama of all crew members when you line them up, side by side, in order.
Rumors of a new comic series before the end of the year ... entitled the Shepherd's Tale ...

Serenity Found is another collection of essays about the 'verse, including a piece from our beloved Capt'n. Here's what Amazon has to say about it:
"This follow-up to Finding Serenity takes the examination of Joss Whedon's canceled cult favorite even further, addressing the events of the film Serenity as well as offering even more thought-provoking, fascinating, and far-thinking essays on the Firefly universe. Contributors include actor Nathan Fillion, who played Captain Mal Reynolds, as well as noted science fiction writer Orson Scott Card. Behind-the-scenes details are explored, including why Firefly makes such a good platform for the upcoming Multiverse online game (with an essay written by Multiverse executive producer Corey Bridges), while other essays examine recurring issues from both the series and the movie, such as the Alliance's hatred of science, the role of smart-mouthed women, and the real reason the Firefly universe has no aliens."
